Suzumiya Haruhi no Tsuisou - 114: An Unsuccessful Display 1

As I entered the classroom, I found Asakura manning the reception desk on her own.

キョン Kyon: Huh, you’re handling reception, Asakura?

朝倉 Asakura: To be honest, another girl was supposed to be on receptionist duties, but no-one was here when I came to check up, so I’ve taken over for the moment.
キョン Kyon: That doesn’t mean you have to do it though? You could look for the girl responsible for the reception and tell her to do her job properly.

朝倉 Asakura: I don’t have enough authority to enforce that.

朝倉 Asakura: Besides, it’s easy to see why someone would abandon a post like this. There’s not much point having a receptionist for an exhibit no-one comes to visit.
キョン Kyon: Nobody has come yet, huh?

朝倉 Asakura: Zero. And even if someone came, I doubt they’d have any real interest.
I took another look around our exhibition.
Questions like “How Long Do You Sleep For?”, “Your Favourite Colour” and “Favourite Music Artist” had answers all tallied up vaguely.
I think it may have been Taniguchi who said he made up a few of the numbers here.

朝倉 Asakura: It’s our class exhibit after all, if I make it look like manning the reception desk is a nuisance, I wouldn’t be qualified for the position of class rep.
キョン Kyon: There’s no reason you should feel responsible for this.

朝倉 Asakura: Thanks. But, I wish we could’ve put on an exhibit that actually feels more like an accomplishment than this.
キョン Kyon: ...
Suddenly, I recalled Asakura’s words from when we finished preparations.

朝倉 Asakura: Is this really okay...

Is that what she meant back then?
