Suzumiya Haruhi no Tsuisou - 202: Silky Haired Koizumi
So, uh... Hi, it's been a while. So my new PSP charger arrived yesterday and despite the fact I totally said I'd work on Chokuretsu while it was coming, instead I watched the first 48 episodes of Fairy Tail (Uwaaah~ Aya Hiranoooo~♥) and the entirety of Daily Lives of High School Boys (Tomokazu Sugita!) and also played all five episodes of The Walking Dead game on my Vita. (I finished it today! Still have the bonus 400 Days chapter though.) Anyway, as much as I'd love to say you can expect more updates from me soon, I'm actually going to be spending some time out of town soon. But I will be working more on translating things when I can!
??? Somebody: Kyoooon!
ハルヒ Haruhi: We’ve been looking for you, geez!
It’s not like you set an actual meeting place, so I’ve been searching too. That’s our Haruhi, impressively passing over things.
I mean, it’s fine, but...
ハルヒ Haruhi: ... What?
キョン Kyon: Ah, nothing...
I looked over her and couldn’t really notice anything different. ... No, wait.
Girls have a tendency of getting one centimetre of hair trimmed from the end then talk about how they’ve had a “haircut”. Then if you say “Oh, I didn’t notice?” they’ll get pissed off.
One of my friends in middle school was like that. Right, the sensible thing here is to comment on it then.
キョン Kyon: It suits you.
ハルヒ Haruhi: ... What does?
Oi, hold it! What’s with that reaction? Aren’t girls supposed to be pleased when you compliment these things? Is it because she’s just Haruhi?
ハルヒ Haruhi: ...?
It was in the following moments that everything finally made sense... Actually no, this just brought about more questions.
??? Somebody: Oh, here you are.
古泉 Koizumi: Hello, good morning.
ハルヒ Haruhi: Well? We asked for the special treatment package and now his hair is all bright and silky. Doesn’t it almost feel like he has an angel’s halo?
It looked positively shiny, although it could just be my imagination. Doesn’t really matter. The real question is, why take Koizumi to a beauty parlour?
ハルヒ Haruhi: He’ll be a shoe in to win the “Beautiful Man Pageant”!
As always, thinking of no-one but herself. Every time doing whatever she wants, is Koizumi really fine going along with this?
古泉 Koizumi: If I wasn’t, I wouldn’t have gotten this silky shiny hair.
From the sounds of it, he probably paid for it himself. I commend you.
ハルヒ Haruhi: More importantly, can you take us to the executive committee? We haven’t submitted his entry yet. We better hurry or we won’t make it!

ハルヒ Haruhi: A costume?
喜緑さん Kimidori-san: Yes. To qualify for the “Beautiful Man Pageant” you need some form of formal attire. It’s in the pamphlet, right...?
With a moment of realisation you could practically see the “!” appear above Haruhi’s head. Koizumi was clearly under the impression that Haruhi had already arranged things.
古泉 Koizumi: This is bad. There’s no way we’d have the time to go buy something now.
ハルヒ Haruhi: Hey Kyon, you got anything?

- (Formalwear that would suit Koizumi?)

キョン Kyon: If you’re willing to try a bunny girl outfit...
ハルヒ Haruhi: Rejected.

And with that, Koizumi let out a sigh of relief. Yeah yeah, my bad.
キョン Kyon: ... Let’s see if we can find something on campus to borrow, else we’ll have to buy something. Let’s split up and search.
ハルヒ Haruhi: Right.
喜緑さん Kimidori-san: A last minute entry is possible, until... The time limit is 12:15 PM.
ハルヒ Haruhi: Thanks... We should contact each other immediately if we find something, otherwise we’ll meet up at the gate around 12 o’clock anyway.
キョン Kyon: Got it.
古泉 Koizumi: Good luck to both of you.
ハルヒ Haruhi: Okay, dismissed for now!
