Suzumiya Haruhi no Tsuisou - 362: Let's Do It All Again
This week's episode of Yuki-chan once again covered only one chapter. However, it's still nowhere as fillery as episode 8, as while chapter 23 was only 8 pages, chapter 27 is 20 pages long. Filler in this episode mostly consisted of scenes to add either atmosphere or Taniguchi and Kunikida. With this episode, we've started the long awaited amnesia arc which covers volume 4. This story arc is one of the best parts of the manga and I'm looking forward to seeing how it folds out in animated form.
I'm not planning to watch the dub yet this week and I barely managed to get this one update ready on time. I've been spending waaaay too much time playing Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1.

At our post event staff meeting, I was planning to bring up Haruhi's suggestion of having another performance this afternoon and advertising it in advance.

朝倉 Asakura: Can we do it one more time? If we actually spread the word a bit, I'm sure a lot of people will come to see.
But Asakura said the exact same thing before I could.

国木田 Kunikida: Sounds good to me? Besides, I'm sure Taniguchi would like a chance to do it properly, right?

谷口 Taniguchi: Y-yeah! I won't screw up this time, so give me another chance!
Taniguchi was all fired up. So was the rest of the class. Yare yare, I guess I didn't need to even worry about the suggestion.
As for me? Of course I'm in. Not a single person was against the motion.

朝倉 Asakura: How does, let's say... 2:00 PM sound?

国木田 Kunikida: Sounds good to me. I'll withdraw from the pageant then. I'll be able to help out more here then.

朝倉 Asakura: Are you sure, Kunikida-kun?

国木田 Kunikida: Yeah. This is way more important.

Normally I'd make a sarcastic comment about how he was just looking for an excuse to withdraw, but I'll leave it be this time.

朝倉 Asakura: Y'know, if we're doing it all again... There's a few ideas I've got.
キョン Kyon: Hm? Like what?
朝倉 Asakura: I'd like to revise the script and make the language more modern. Rearranging it without changing the meaning. Make it a little easier to understand.
キョン Kyon: Hmm... Not a bad idea, but wouldn't that be tough for the actors?

谷口 Taniguchi: It's fine by me? Simplifying the language would make it easier for me. I'm sure the others would agree.

朝倉 Asakura: Thank you. I'll bring the topic up with the others soon. As for our advertising...

谷口 Taniguchi: We could use the PA system? We could use it when the festival committee isn't and make an announcement like WHAM?
朝倉 Asakura: Sure, it's worth a try.
キョン Kyon: But how many people would actually hear it among all the noise of the festival outside?

谷口 Taniguchi: Ah, good point.

国木田 Kunikida: It's a somewhat more tame idea, but maybe we could print and distribute some fliers.

谷口 Taniguchi: Tame idea? More like lame idea. I mean they'd have to stand out somehow? How would we do that...?
Stand out, huh...?

キョン Kyon: Uh, I actually have these.

All of my classmates had either one of two different reactions to the bunny girl costumes I pulled out. First up–
谷口 Taniguchi: Woah!? Kyon, that's so awesome!
Starting with Taniguchi, almost all the guys were excited. And for good reason. This is the kind of item to elicit that kind of excitement.
On the other hand, the other reaction was...
朝倉 Asakura: ... Why do you even have those?

国木田 Kunikida: And five of them.
キョン Kyon: ... Ah, someone I know won them in a game, and since she didn't want them, she gave them to me.
朝倉 Asakura: Haah... I can't believe anyone would have given you that.
Yeah, well you're the one who gave them to me. Setting that aside...
Some of the guys and all of the girls pretty much had these same reactions.
Oh no, I've been poisoned by Haruhi's mindset. Of course normal people would all react like this.

朝倉 Asakura: ... And, who will be wearing this? You're not going to be putting it on yourself, right?

谷口 Taniguchi: Oi oi, having Kyon wear it would drive people away, wouldn't it? The girls can decide amongst themselves with rock-paper-scissors.
The girls in the classroom all began booing at once. Well, that sure went down like a lead balloon.

谷口 Taniguchi: Oh come on, stop complaining. It'd totally catch people's attention, right? Don't you agree, Kyon?
キョン Kyon: ... I thought so, but maybe not.

谷口 Taniguchi: Huh!? Why not!?
Because people like you are getting too worked up about it! That's what I'd like to say, but I won't.
キョン Kyon: Well, it's a bit inappropriate, right? We should settle for something more high school-ish...

谷口 Taniguchi: You can't call it inappropriate when you're the one who actually brought the things.
キョン Kyon: We're not doing it, that's final!

朝倉 Asakura: Hmm...
キョン Kyon: ... What?

朝倉 Asakura: Despite you going back on the idea just then, I was actually thinking it may actually be interesting.
キョン Kyon: ... Huh?

朝倉 Asakura: Besides, maintaining the status quo isn't going to change anything. So we might as well go all out, right?

And with that said...

With me completely baffled, Asakura herself wore the bunny suit, then we went ahead with making our inappropriate fliers.
谷口 Taniguchi: Ooooh yeah! I'm fired up, I'm fired up!! So hot, so hot, smoking hot!!!
Taniguchi started up and the other morons were all going nuts too.
On the other hand, those who were bewildered by this turn of events were inspired by Asakura's dedication, leading everyone to wanting to give their all for these fliers.
An act of self sacrifice is an effective way of motivating others to your cause. The class was united in its actions.
Having us all united is great and all, but a class under the leadership of a bunny girl... is that really okay?

Besides, it kind of feels like I've somehow forced Asakura into this situation... Ugh, it feels like some of the girls are giving me a cold stare.
