I would just like to say that the revisited version of this scene has one of my favourite lines of inner monologue to ever come out of Kyon's head.

As expected, that guy approached me smiling like a moron.
??? Somebody: Oooi, Kyooon!

I was about to go home after returning to the classroom for my stuff when a voice called out to me. I don’t even need to turn to know it’s that moron Taniguchi.

谷口 Taniguchi: It seems you’ve finally awoken.
キョン Kyon: To what?

谷口 Taniguchi: Don’t play dumb. Heard you were chatting up the ladies today!
キョン Kyon: ...!
No matter how many times he says it, it's still mortifying. Alright, let's just ignore him.

Anyway, while I ignored whatever nonsense Taniguchi was spouting, Kunikida and Asakura turned up–

朝倉 Asakura: There’s already rumours throughout our class.
Yare yare...

朝倉 Asakura: Did the photo you took with me come in handy?

谷口 Taniguchi: Wha!? You even got Asakura?

国木田 Kunikida: Wow, you've got no shame whatsoever.
キョン Kyon: This whole thing is a misunderstanding!

朝倉 Asakura: Fufu, I'm trusting you not to do anything bad with it. See ya.

谷口 Taniguchi: Ah, Asakura–!

朝倉 Asakura: What?
谷口 Taniguchi: How about we take a photo too?
朝倉 Asakura: Maybe next time.

谷口 Taniguchi: Oh, come on–
国木田 Kunikida: ... I guess you’ll be trouble from now on too, Kyon.
I have a bad feeling that I know what he means, but I’ll ask anyway. What exactly do you mean by trouble?

国木田 Kunikida: Your reputation in class and stuff. Just look at Taniguchi and... Well, I’m going home.

... Geez, I can honestly say I have never before been more grateful to know that the world is ending a few hours from now.
谷口 Taniguchi: Kyooon! Come on, help me put the moves on Asakura!
朝倉 Asakura: That’s impossible.
