Suzumiya Haruhi no Tsuisou - 235: The First Buyer

I was under the impression Nagato would be around here right now, but...

古泉 Koizumi: The entrance? Was there someone you were hoping to flirt with here?
キョン Kyon: Nope, guess not.

Weird. It was right about now last time that we met Nagato here and carried her cardboard boxes for her.
As question marks floated through my mind, I decided to head for the exhibition space.

When we arrived, there was seemingly a single desk dedicated to the Literature Club’s space.
Has this got to do with the STC data repairing itself? I don’t really get the concept, but let’s go with that.

コンピ研部長 Computer Club Leader The Computer Club’s ultimate game, “The Day of Sagittarius 7”! In high demand! Line up here if you wanna play~!

On the other hand, the Computer Club seems to be enjoying success as usual.

古泉 Koizumi: The Computer Research Club? Was there someone you were hoping to flirt with here?
キョン Kyon: Hell no, moron. Look at the other stall.

古泉 Koizumi: Literature Club, selling anthology volumes... I see, your goal is the members of the Literature Club.
Damn straight. However, the one I’m aiming for, where is Nagato anyway?

長門 Nagato: ...lcome.

Oh, she’s behind that panel.

古泉 Koizumi: Ah, you’re a member of the Literature Club? Hello there.

長門 Nagato: “Thought”, on sale now...
Clearly not the most natural saleswoman, but she made a very Nagato-ish attempt to greet us.

古泉 Koizumi: I see, you’re selling an anthology. Mind if I look through the sample copy you’ve got here?

長門 Nagato: Feel free.

古泉 Koizumi: I’ll do that then.

古泉 Koizumi: I see, it’s mostly made up of poems. And the occasional eclectic thought is compiled too. As a unrefined young man, I find myself unable to provide a clear judgement on this material, how about you?
キョン Kyon: Huh, me? I’ve no clue either.

長門 Nagato: Ah...
And it seems that Nagato has only just noticed me now. She was so intensely focused on Koizumi as a customer that I hadn’t even caught her eye.
キョン Kyon: Yo Nagato. How’s sales?

長門 Nagato: ... Zero.
キョン Kyon: Not even one copy, huh?
So that means Haruhi’s efforts to take the space back from the Computer Club were all for nil then.

古泉 Koizumi: Well, how about it? You can have the honour of buying the very first copy.
キョン Kyon: Eh, me?
古泉 Koizumi: Indeed. At which point I’ll have to settle with buying the second copy.
That darn Koizumi, he’s reading too much into our relationship. But I’ll just go along with things and buy it.
キョン Kyon: I’ll take one, thanks Nagato.

長門 Nagato: ... That’s ¥300.

古泉 Koizumi: I’ll have one as well.
長門 Nagato: ... That’s ¥300.
My copy of the anthology “Thought” still had the smell of fresh ink from printing.
